tonebase is the leading platform for online music education, featuring cinematic-quality tutorials and interactive events led by world-renowned musicians. Through deep artist insights, live engagement, and a supportive global community, we empower musicians at every level to elevate their craft and connect with others on their musical journey.

We are seeking a proactive, organized, and inspiring Community Leads to grow the heart of our platform: the tonebase community.

This role is ideal for someone who loves creating meaningful experiences, thrives on collaboration, and wants to play an active role in shaping the future of music education online. As Community Leads, you'll be responsible for designing and facilitating engaging discussions, interactive challenges, and community-based programming that supports our members in their artistic growth and fosters a strong sense of connection and belonging.

We welcome applicants who specialize in any of the instruments currently offered on the tonebase platform: Trumpet (within our new Brass platform), Saxophone, Double Bass, and Flute.

As a Community Leads , you’ll collaborate with a dedicated and talented team that’s passionate about music education and innovation. Together, we create meaningful connections and inspire musicians around the globe while fostering a supportive and creative workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Community Engagement & Programming:
  • Foster an inclusive, inspiring environment by driving conversations, responding to posts, and spotlighting member contributions in the forums.
  • Lead key recurring programs:
    • Discussions of the Week (DOW): Publish 4 curated discussions per month.
    • Community Challenges: Run 1 themed challenge per month to help members set goals and celebrate milestones.
    • Two Week Intensives (TWI): Host 1 session per 2 months and coordinate up to 6 guest-led TWIs per year.
  • Proactively design and launch new community formats, activities, and events that surprise, delight, and keep members engaged.
• Community Growth & Culture:
  • Help shape and evolve the tonebase community culture through empathy-driven leadership and experimentation.
  • Track and report on community health metrics, gather qualitative feedback, and identify growth opportunities.
• Cross-Team Collaboration:
  • Partner with Content and Coaching teams to align community programming with platform offerings.
  • Provide community insights for guest events, feedback loops, and platform improvements.
• Live Stream Hosting & Training:
  • Learn to host professional live streams on tonebase, with full training, mentorship, and high-quality gear provided.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or higher) in Music from a recognized institution, with deep expertise on your instrument.
• Proven experience in online community management, education, or programming for arts-based communities.
• Strong grasp of music education, pedagogy, and learner-centered approaches.
